We are so grateful for all of the calls, texts, and emails as people have checked in to see how we're doing and what our plans are. We so badly wish that our original plans could happen going forward, but in the spirit of keeping all of our loved ones safe and healthy, we've decided to limit the number of guests attending our wedding in person to a significantly smaller group. We'll be reaching out to you shortly if you haven't heard from us already. Although we won't be able to host everyone in person this time, we plan to live-stream the ceremony so we can still celebrate with you from afar. Additionally, we are planning to throw a first-anniversary picnic next year on the same day, August 14th 2021, at the same location here in Annapolis, in hopes that all of our loved ones can celebrate with us in person then. This has not been an easy decision to make, and we long to be with you all. But we are all the more excited to celebrate together safely in 2021. Thank you again for your love and your care for us. We love you all dearly!
We both moved to Annapolis around the same time two years ago and were acquainted through our church from the start. But it wasn't until August 14th, a few months later, that we really became friends, chatting together downtown at Red Bean while waiting on our friends to come celebrate Frankie's birthday down by the harbor. Before everyone else arrived, we decided to intentionally invest in being actual friends--we even shook on it. After nine months of really sweet friendship and adventures later, we decided that we'd go on a date and see if there was something more than friendship between us. That first date was to the Modern Art Museum in D.C., and our second.... Well, it was a dinner date at the nearest Sheetz an hour away. Both were wonderful. We quickly realized that there was indeed something more between us, and every date, adventure, and night in since then have been just as wonderful, too. As the months went on, conversations about the future got more serious and it became clear to both of us that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. So on Valentine's Day, exactly a year and a half after intentionally promising to invest in a friendship, Andrew surprised Frankie by proposing before dinner, and she said yes! We had talked about having a wedding in August, and as it turned out we settled on August 14th. We are excited to build a life together and we are so excited to share this day with those of you who mean so much to us!
