God allowed Andrew and Faith’s paths to cross through mutual friends and bible studies. Initially Faith’s longtime, high school swimming friend Jessica (Kelly) Dye introduced her to her soon to be sister in law and friend Camille Dye at her Bachelorette party in April 2023. At this occasion Camille invited Faith to a Bible study in the Whitestown area, and the two became fast friends. One Friday, Camille Dye invited Faith Hyde and Jess (Kelly) Dye over after dinner “to meet her cats” conveniently during the time the men’s Bible study was meeting. Camille had individually suggested to both Faith and Andrew they should meet or go out, but it wasn’t until they met in person and matched on Christian dating site “Upward” shortly thereafter plans of a first date took form.
Andrew and Faith’s first date in was 07/22/2023 at a local coffee shop called Indie Coffee Roasters. The connection between them was instantaneous as the date went on for nearly six hours and included two rounds of coffee, walking along the Monon Trail and walking to and through the Carmel Farmers Market.
After talking a couple months, and three dates Andrew planned to ask Faith to be his girlfriend. Faith had traveled out of state to Geneva, Wisconsin to volunteer as a nurse at a Christian camp for children. Upon her return home Faith found a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a vase and a thoughtful card. Although it was late when she got in Andrew asked if it would be okay if he could come over for the two to spend a little time together while she unpacked. It was then he asked and she said “yes” of course!
Andrew and Faith went out for a nice dinner at a local Restaurant called “Good Omen” in Zionsville. After dinner the two walked a candlelit path at Elm Street Park, put on by the town as a local Valentines event. Following their walk, the two walked to the Gazebo in Lion’s Park (where they had previously walked on a date). Upon reaching the Gazebo, Faith noticed that there were additional lights hung on the gazebo and along the ground too. There were pictures of the two clipped along the hanging Christmas lights, and rose petals and tea lights lining the ground with gold letters spelling out L-O-V-E. After a romantic speech Andrew got down on one knee opened a treasure box and pulled out a smaller ring box and asked Faith to marry him, and she said “yes! Yes!” A few close friends were able to celebrate immediately with them as they were hiding in the bushes and Andrew recruited another friend to capture the moment as a photographer. As if this wasn’t beautiful enough of a surprise, Andrew asked Faith if she wouldn’t mind going by his sister’s house to show her and tell his parents who were in town and visiting. Shortly after coming into the house Faith and Andrew were greeted by 25+ of their close family members and friends for the sweetest engagement party.
