Andrew and Ellie say that they met at a classic beachfront Charleston bar on Isle of Palms - the Windjammer. They each came separately with friends, to see a band neither of them really knew or cared for. At some point they were corn hole partners - and they won, of course! That win sparked a conversation, a walk, and a first kiss on the beach. In reality, they met at a 4th of July party earlier that summer. Ellie brought chips & queso to the party, which prompted one of Andrews jokes - "Did you bring the chips & queso?" "Yeah..." "Queso can I have some?" Little did he know he'd soon be asking a much more serious question!
First Baptist Church of Charleston has always been an important part of Andrew and Ellie's relationship. On one of their first dates, Andrew took Ellie walking down Church Street on a warm summer night. He showed her the church lit up by street lights and kissed her under gas lanterns. They have attended Sunday services with Andrew's entire family their whole relationship, and even brought Ellie's family across the country for a Christmas service. Before moving to Birmingham, Andrew wanted to take Ellie down by the Church to reminisce a bit about their beloved Charleston. Walking down Longitude Lane (next to Church), Andrew popped the question! Andrew and Ellie loved taking Engagement photos in their favorite spots, and can't wait to hold their ceremony in the same Church that means so much to them and their families!
