Less than two miles from downtown, open Saturday, and filled with great Chicago history. Andrew and Danielle once got free cheesecake here as the museum celebrated Chicago's 180th birthday, and then boldly/foolishly walked two miles in freezing EARLY MARCH (sound familiar?) weather to Navy Pier. You could reenact this death march and tell us about how you remember what it felt like to have ears.
Andrew has given tours here since 2011! It's the oldest boat tour company in the city. A must-do if you love architecture and history. They also have heated cabins, so you can enjoy the tour from inside and laugh at all the cold people outside.
The Mecca for the funniest people in the nation and for improvisational comedy. Catch a show at the Main Stage or the e.t.c. Stage to see some of the most talented writer-performers in the country. Andrew was once mentioned in a scene about his parents meeting with his teacher. This is how it went: "Thanks for meeting with me, Mr. & Mrs. Waple." The parents said, "What is it? Does he have ADD? ADHD?" "No," the teacher replied. "He's D-U-M-B." LIGHTS. A very accurate scene.
The first and best cider bar in Chicago. Andrew and Danielle love this place. Great food. Over 100 types of ciders from all over the world, good prices, great service. If you're lucky, they'll have a hard-to-find cider called Ruby Rose from Sea Cider. It's got rhubarb in it so it's got a zing, but it's a bit sweet. It's about $13 a glass, and it's worth every penny. Andrew surprised Danielle with a bottle of it the night he proposed.
