The big day is on the way!

Luck for us we both had the same Spanish teacher and even though we didn't have the same class. She was able to talk to both of us and encourage Andrew to talk to me and how we would be a good match. We had a similar sense of humor and she thought we would be good together. Dana being a senior in high school and Andrew being a sophomore we started dating in January in 2015. We have been through many transitions from high school, to college and living in different cities, and now the working and living in Ankeny. So we are super excited to start this next adventure!

During all the craziness of people being stuck at home Dana was reading a book about different love languages and read a section on how important it is to give gifts if that is how a person expresses love (which is true for Dana). So Dana had Andrew read this part while she went and started picking up and doing dishes. Once Andrew finished reading this section he got up grabbed a towel and tossed it to Dana and said stop doing dishes and dry your hands. Dana thinks that we are going to fight or have a discussion about this. Andrew grabs this box from the back of the top cabinet (that Dana couldn't reach or see back into). He gets down on one knee and said "Dana Jo Ackerman will you marry me?" To which Dana is stunned and says "Is this real?!" She also starts to cry and Andrew gets up and asks what is wrong I thought this was good? Dana explains that these are happy tears. Andrew's response is "I still need an answer." Dana says "Yes, of course yes!"
