Her version: I was going to Richmond to "train" for a half marathon with Jessica Bucker and she asked if I wanted to go to brunch with some guys from her kick-ball team. I asked Jessica, "Do I need to shower?" (aka, do I need to look presentable/are there love interests), to which she replied, "Nope." We met up with Drew and his roommate Josh at Curbside in the Fan and as soon as they walked in I was like greatttt - should have showered. Following brunch we all hung out and watched the Internship at Jessica's apartment - well they watched while I stalked Drew on social media :) A few weeks later Jessica and I were going to Cancun for a girls trip and I made her invite Drew (and other friends) out for drinks the night before we left. After some of Drew's famous corny lines, the rest is history... His version: I woke up with the plan of going to brunch at one of my favorite spots. One of my roommates and I were going to meet a couple girls from our kickball team at Curbside Café. I could already taste the hash brown casserole I was about to get with my meal. The girl text and asked me if it would be ok if she brought a friend from the UVA NICU with her. They were planning on training for a marathon after brunch. We went to brunch and shared some food and laughs. The girls then headed off to train for a marathon, while my roommate and I retired to watch football on the couch. We had a plan of meeting up with them later to watch a movie. The day passed and we went over to watch “The Internship” with them later in the evening. The movie was ok, but we talked more and Ciera sat on the floor to watch the movie (I remember thinking this was a little odd). After the movie my roommate and I went home. A couple weeks later Ciera was in town before leaving to go to Cancun, we went out for dinner and drinks with the group again. A few days later Ciera and I became friends on Facebook, messaging back and forth while she was in Cancun. The rest as they say is history.
