While Andrew and I were both in the same police academy, that's not quite where the story began. Although his habitual academy meal of an entire Costco rotisserie chicken and instant rice was definitely a topic of discussion on our first date. We began dating after we both ended up at a citywide call for police assistance at Carson Beach for a large, rowdy "gathering" in May of 2022 in South Boston while we were both working the four to midnight shift. We bumped into one another that night and Andrew asked me out on our first date. Shortly after we moved in together and acquired our first baby, a dog we named Cash, who we bought for $20.00 off a homeless man on our first vacation to Nashville, Tennessee. A little time later in October of 2024 we found out we were having twin boys, Dennis and Declan, who came on March 10th, 2025. The boys came a lot sooner than their original due date of June 29th, 2025, which meant we had quite a long NICU stay at Mass General Hospital. Though there were days we didn't feel so strong and many days we wondered when our turn to leave the hospital would come, we finally brought them both home at the end of August 2025. We finally felt the pieces of the puzzle fall into place as a family of four. Andrew proposed to me on Halloween of 2025 at home with both boys in their proposal onesies, and it was exactly how Andrew does most things, a trick involved to get me out of bed, funny, and perfectly unique.
