Traveling to Seville

The easiest way to travel to Seville is through Madrid. As a major travel hub, there are many direct flights into Madrid’s airport, Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (airport code MAD). Once you arrive in Madrid, you can take a 70 minute flight to Seville Airport (Aeropuerto de Sevilla, airport code SVQ) – the city’s modern airport located a short 20 minute cab ride from the city center. There are cabs located outside the airport. From the airport, the cabs operate on a fixed fee of €22.20 or €24.75 depending on the time of day. Alternatively, you can travel to Seville via our preferred method – Spain’s high speed rail system! Run by a company called Renfe, the “AVE” high speed trains take you on a 2 hour and 40 minute scenic journey through Spain’s sweeping landscape. If you’re spending a few days in Madrid before heading to Seville, we would recommend taking this train! The train station is closer to the city center than the airport is, and the ride is significantly more comfortable. Depart from Madrid's train station “Madrid Puerta de Atocha–Almudena Grandes” (Estación de Madrid Atocha in Spanish) and arrive at Seville-Santa Justa (Estación de Sevilla-Santa Justa) in Seville, a 10 minute cab ride to the city center. You can find a cab at the taxi stand located outside the train station. Please note that there is a security screening process for high speed trains in Spain – similar to air travel – so afford yourselves enough time before your train departs to clear security. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance: https://www.renfe.com/es/en When booking, take note of the trip’s duration as your trip duration options may vary (i.e. some durations are as short as 2:40 or as long as 4 hours).

Getting Around the City

Seville's small city charm also means that getting around is easy! All the venues for the weekend are in the city proper and are just a short cab ride away (7-15 minutes) from the hotels below. It’s easiest to get around the city on foot, but there are also trams/light rail, a metro, taxis, and ride share services (Uber and Freenow) available.
