How We Met

We were introduced by two of our best friends, Emily and Bryan White back in 2016! We were only friends for months. We went to Vols games, hung out at the White’s house numerous times, and even dressed up as a “couples” Halloween costume before we officially started dating. One of my bridesmaids asked if we were on a date the night of the Halloween party back in 2016. When we told her no, she just rolled her eyes and argued that we were in fact on a date. Looks like she was right! 😄 We started dating on December 16, 2016. We knew it would be hard, especially with him starting the physical therapy program shortly after and making sure Kenna was okay with the relationship. We knew we wanted to make it work and that is exactly what we have done. We are so excited for the next step in our relationship and to see what our future holds!

The Proposal

March 28, 2020

Let me start off with saying the proposal was a TOTAL surprise to me. Andrew had told me that he had to work all day on Saturday. My mom, Kenna, and I planned to have a girls' day and spend some much needed time together. Looking back, I wish I would have picked up on the hints my mom kept dropping. Such as fixing my makeup and my hair as well as putting on some nicer clothes lol. It was just a girls' day during a pandemic, it wasn’t like we could go anywhere! Later in the day, my mom and Kenna told me they wanted to get frozen yogurt from Sweetsie Treats (my FAV place). Of course, I’m always in for a Sweetsie Treats run. (Andrew here for this part: Abby "had" to decide to buy a lamp at Lowe's during a pandemic on surprise proposal day, so I was sitting there waiting with the photographer for an extra 30 minutes). When we got there, we were eating our ice cream on the bench outside. A girl I went to high school with asked me to come look at the party room because they had redecorated it. When I opened the door I saw Andrew standing there with lights, candles, roses, and pictures everywhere. I was COMPLETELY shocked and freaking out at this point. The most perfect proposal by the most perfect fiance was absolutely worth the wait. Another thing, the fact that Kenna kept it a secret may be the biggest shocker of all. 😜
