On October 13th, 2023 Andrew and Taylor each walked through the doors of The Highgrove Estate to attend the wedding of each of their friends. Andrew knew the groom, and Taylor knew the Bride....and neither one had a plus one to this wedding. Taylor had arrived hours earlier to do the makeup for the bridal party. She had then been pacing around the venue trying to keep herself distracted from the fact that she knew not a single person in attendance, aside from the bride and the maid of honor who were obviously busy with much more important matters! Andrew had arrived with his two friends, the only two people he knew in attendance other than the groom. After being handed a welcome glass of champagne, they both found themselves standing in the court yard waiting for other guests to arrive before the ceremony began. Taylor struck up a conversation with another solo guest and decided that as two single ladies they would have each others backs and stick together for the evening! They were soon joined in conversation by Andrew and his two friends! After a few minutes of polite conversation, they all parted ways for the ceremony! (Taylors Perspective) I spent most of the cocktail hour chatting with my new best friend from New Jersey and trying to remember what those three guys said their names were (funny enough the one neither of us could remember was Andrew!) After confirming that my new best friend and I were at the same table, we went to go find table 8. And as fate would have it, there sat Andrew. I remember thinking "Oh good it's the cute guy! If only I could remember his name!" I purposely chose the seat right next to him and we chatted a bit about how he ended up at our table instead of sitting with his two friends. I was half convinced there had been a mistake on the seating chart! Not wanting to just sit there in awkward silence I continued to prompt conversation and basically forced him to talk to me. Then one sentence changed it all! "I live in Cary". Suddenly Andrew became much more talkative and very interested in getting to know me! And we absolutely hit it off! Apparently Andrew thought that I was also from New Jersey and, though he thought I was cute, he didn’t want to "get attached" if I lived in another state. But when we discovered that we lived less than 10 minutes from each other, it was impossible not to notice how well we just clicked. Andrew and I spent the rest of the evening immersed in conversation. He won me over with his silly puns, showing me pictures to prove that he did in fact used to have long curly hair, and his willingness to get out on the dance floor and bust a move with me. After a few not so subtle nudges from one of his friends, we exchanged phone numbers. Neither of us had planned to stay as late as we did. In fact, I told my roommate before I left that I would likely be home early since didn’t know anyone else attending! But by the end of the night, despite both being exhausted, neither of us wanted to part ways. I remember driving home with the biggest dumbest grin on my face and thinking about how perfect of a “meet cute” story this would make if he turned out to be the one. Turns out I was right ❤️ (Andrew’s Perspective) Ditto!
