There was no specific "love at first sight" moment as they both attended DeSales for 2 years together before t hey became friends. They had interacted with each other before as they were both members of the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. Once, Andrew spent an entire St. Patrick's Day party with Marissa's "Kiss Me I'm Irish" sash on without realizing it was hers. Don't worry though, she did get the sash back without having to kiss him! It wasn't until their senior year that they ended up becoming friends, thanks to having villas next to each other and Andrew sneaking in 2 dogs the second weekend of the semester. We exchanged information during homecoming weekend and started hanging out from there watching Eagles games, movies, and walking to class together. Not long after that, Andrew asked Marissa to be his girlfriend, and they've been inseparable ever since! Fast forward five and half years later, after college graduation, new jobs, and a couple of moves, they embarked on a cruise to Alaska with Andrew's family to celebrate multiple wedding anniversaries. The first stop was in Sitka, where we explored multiple beautiful locations until Andrew said he wanted to go to a "beach" he had found on Google before the trip. Andrew was super nervous about losing the ring, the "beach" was mostly just grass and rocks in front of the Sitka Sound, but the proposal still exceeded his wildest of dreams. Marissa was quite surprised, she only realized it was happening as she heard his heart beating a mile a minute in his chest, which she remembered happening the first time he kissed her too! She said yes to tying the knot, and isn't so pretty to think that all along there was some invisible string tying them together?
