We are getting married!

In 2016, we met in the small town of Marcellus, MI, a german exchange student and Marcellus High School senior. We saw each other at school and summer gatherings, and as we spent more time together, our friendship grew. We went on many walks and shared stories about our different cultures and experiences, finding common ground in our differences. A few months later, we went to the Winter Formal together, marking the first of many special moments. On May 15, we officially started dating and went to Prom together. Those special few months were followed by years of distance. In the two years of long distance, we spend every summer and every Christmas together. In 2018, we moved into our first apartment right outside the WMU Campus in Kalamazoo. We had early mornings working and late nights studying and eating pizza. We went on our first vacation together, now we try to make time for at least a small weekend trip in every season of the year. After we both graduated from college and found jobs that we like, it was time to step it up, toss the furniture we found at the side of the road and move into a new apartment. Most importantly one with an in-unit washer and dryer (One has to recognize luxury where it presents itself). Balancing out careers and personal time, we go on countless walks, play scrabble, try out new restaurants, explore hiking trails, and cook together. On June 15, 2024, we got engaged on what seemed to be another one of our spontaneous weekend hikes. Yet it was planned to a T, and turned into the most memorable days in our lives!
