“How we met” His POV

It’s funny how “right place at the right time” really resonates with the story of Andrew & Angelica. Both of them attended Rhodes College together, went on the same Maymester in Europe just one year apart, had the same classes at different times, and while living in San Antonio, TX Angelica would always see signs for Johnson City, TX, little did she know that her future husband was from Johnson City but the other state with a “T”. Andrew and Angelica’s relationship truly fostered out of a friendship they formed once they began working for the same company in Memphis, TN. Andrew and Angelica frequently hung out together over the weekend going to Grizzlies games, dinner and nights out with friends. They started to grow feelings for one another after a work training in Nashville May of 2022. They went out to dinner together every night and through lots of fun, deep, and meaningful conversations, both realized they had feelings for the other. On July 14, 2022 Andrew officially (and “finally” according to Angelica) asked Angelica to be his girlfriend. Only about three weeks later Andrew had met Angelica’s parents and Angelica was on a plane with Andrew to Charleston, SC where they were spending a Long Beach weekend with Andrew’s family. Neither one of them was intimidated by the situation and in fact on that beach trip in Charleston, Andrew and Angelica had arguably their favorite date to-date where they walked to get coffee, crossed a boardwalk over the Carolina Marsh, and split one or maybe two “fish bowl” cocktails before spending the afternoon at the beach. Andrew and Angelica got engaged on November 2, 2024 where Andrew surprised her not once, not twice, but three times in order to pull off the most meaningful proposal and evening Andrew could give to Angelica (with the help of many friends and family). Andrew & Angelica have had so many firsts together: first couple trip out of the country (Italy), first SEC football game (and first time getting on the field at a football game, thanks Tennessee), first time facing a long-distance relationship (which we crushed), and so many others to mention. Angelica and Andrew will continue to experience many more firsts together but they also are so thankful and happy to be each other’s last first. Andrew and Angelica cannot thank everyone enough for all of the support and love throughout our relationship, and we are ecstatic to be able to celebrate you all in the near future.
