Take a walk from the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights over the Brooklyn Bridge. We had to run this when we were in college, but we suggest you just walk over and enjoy the view!
DUMBO is short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Near Brooklyn Bridge Park, this is one of the most beautiful parts of Brooklyn with its cobble stone streets and its old industrial buildings.
The Brooklyn Museum is a great museum close to where we live. It is pay as you wish!
Prospect Park is gorgeous during the fall and there are plenty of places and just relax. Fun fact, the designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux who designed Central Park also designed Prospect Park.
The MET is one of the most impressive museums in the entire world, and there is always something really interesting on view. I would be sure to make sure you see the Temple of Dendur.
The Whitney is a museum dedicated to American Art and where Alana works.
We go to Chinatown often for great food and deserts. We recommend you go to xi'an, get a bubble tea, and and egg custard tart. Adjacent to Chinatown is Little Italy.
Central Park is gorgeous and significantly larger than Prospect Park. There's always something to see or do in Central Park!
The High Line is a public park built on a old freight rail line elevated above the streets on the West Side. It runs from Gansevoort (where the Whitney is in the Meatpacking District) to West 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Avenues. The views from the High Line are gorgeous!
MoMA has an excellent collection of Modern and Contemporary art. Go on Friday evenings from 4:00-8:00 for free!
Drew suggests Grand Central Terminal because of it's iconic architecture and everything around it.
If you want to do some shopping, SoHo is the place to go. Although be prepared to brave massive crowds.
Cafe Katja is one of our favorite date night places. We suggest ordering a stein and sharing the sausage sampler platter.
One of our favorite brunch spots in Brooklyn. Make sure you get there early or else you'll have to wait sometimes as long as an hour.
Xi'an is one of our all time favorite places to go. Make sure you go when you're in Chinatown!
Casa Mezcal has delicious food and better drinks. Make sure you do the mescal flight!
Alma is delicious and has some of the best views of the city on their roof deck.
We've been going to Cafe Luluc for years and we love their drunch special that we share. It's cash only!
Smorgasburg is every Sunday in Prospect Park. There is a myriad of food (and beer!) to choose from. It is cash only and ATMs on site.
One of the best Italian places we have been to in the city.
