Life is funny and beautiful, it has an odd way of connecting people. Before our paths would eventually cross in 2017, Melissa was living in Arizona and was working towards graduating from Arizona State University. Andres was living in our home town of Galt, CA and working at a local Pipe Company. Faith drew us together when Denora and Andrew got married! Denora is Melissa’s older sister and therefore was her Maid of Honor. Andrew is one of Andre’s best friends, and so naturally he was selected to be a Groomsman in their wedding. We met briefly at their wedding, but when the weekend was over we would go back to our separate lives, states apart. Fast forward 1 year, and what would again bring us together was at the time our common denominator; Denora and Andrew Vasquez. They had just had their first son Brayden Vasquez and Melissa had just moved back home from Arizona and was looking to build a life after college back in our home town. After heavy influence by Melissa’s family, promising how GREAT of a guy he was… she agreed to go out on a formal date with Andres. Despite feeling like she just wasn’t his “type” and vice versa! Andres took Melissa downtown to a bar/restaurant called LowBrau. The conversation was good.. and so from there we went to another bar.. and then eventually it was later in the evening and so we got dinner.. and then after dinner we decided to catch a movie. We had absolutely no track of time and before we knew it, we had been on a first date for over 9 hours! It was the BEST date either of us had ever been on! A moment we cherish to this day happened on this day! While we were eating our dinner, a very sweet older woman came over to our table. She caught us off guard as we just seemed to be so smitten with one another. She stopped and said, “excuse me, I don’t mean to intrude, but I just have to say.. your connect is undeniable! I don’t know how long you two have been married or dating but you guys both just look so happy and in love!” Now keep in mind.. this was our first date! Not even a month later, Andres asked Melissa to be his girlfriend on a trip to San Francisco. And a year from then, we got our first apartment together! We really cherished our time under one roof together for the first time. Getting to know eachother on a deeper level, staying up having late night conversations. Now having “our” favorite shows, restaurants, grocery stores, sides of the bed, etc. In February of 2021, we decided to get a dog! We brought home a new 8 week old French Bulldog and for awhile we could not believe that we bought a dog while living in an apartment with nothing but an 18ft porch. Lola soon suprised us to be the best dog we could have asked for! After a quick year lease. Life would bring us back to galt in the homiest rental! We were so excited to have a house and even more excited to be back in Galt after trying our time in Elk Grove. On New Years Eve of 2023 our lives would change forever! Andres asked Melissa to marry him in one of our favorite restaurants, Echo & Rig! It was the best night! We are now deep into wedding planning and are so excited to see what the future holds for us! We hope for a healthy family one day that we can continue to grow in our home town!
