How it Began

High School Sweethearts

Andres and Shirley met in 2005 when they were both freshman in high school. Over the course of the year they developed a strong friendship. Andres and Shirley were young and unaware of what their bond was becoming. After a little over a year of being friends, Andres wanted for them to be more. So on Friday November 3,2006 following their afterschool YMCA workout out he declared his feelings and told Shirley he wanted them to be a couple. Shirley replied "What are your intentions?" To which Andres responded "To Make You Happy". The critical thinker she is Shirley said "I don't know I'll think about it" and walked away leaving Andres in suspense the whole weekend. He was kicking himself in the butt thinking he ruined one of his best friendships. That Monday November 6,2006 Andres was late to class and one of their mutual friends told him Shirley was looking for him. She had left him in suspense all weekend, Andres accidently left her in suspense all morning. When they finally saw each other Shirley told Andres "Yes we can be Boyfriend and Girlfriend". That Saturday they had their first official date where they adventured off to explore Shoreline Village and the Lighthouse.

The Proposal

A Return to the Beginning

It was their 10th anniversary and they had reservations to Queensview steakhouse at Shoreline Village. They were at home 3 hours before their reservations when Andres said he wanted to leave early so they could walk around shoreline and the lighthouse. Shirley was feeling lazy and tried to convince Andres that they just stay home. Shirley did not know Andres had enlisted shirleys cousin Arc to fill the path towards the lighthouse with rose petals and lights. Andres convinces her to go out by saying they would have to pay a cancellation fee of $50 each if they do not go to dinner. Shirley finally agrees and they head to the lighthouse where they had their first date. As they reach the middle of the path the rose petals and the lights can finally be seen. The area had been cleared out by security thanks to Arc and so the only ambient noise that could be heard was the water and the Violinist who Andres had hired. They reached the end of the path where a heart made up of roses was waiting for them. After a speech he gave her as they walked towards the heart Andres got on one knee and asked Shirley to marry him. Shirley said YES and they shared a dance underneath the moonlight.
