What COVID requirements are there for wedding guests and vendors?

Answer

We are required by our wedding venue to get proof of vaccination and covid testing from each guest and wedding vendor prior to the event(s). We want everyone to feel safe, including several high risk guests (including the bride). See the top of the page for the URL to upload your card. Vaccination and Booster Shots: All guests need to be fully vaccinated and have received a booster shot at least 2 weeks before attending the event. Rapid Testing: We want to assure our wedding weekend is as safe as can be. Therefore we are requesting that all guests who are attending to take a Rapid Antigen Test the day of each event (one Friday and one Saturday). Please plan to secure your own rapid tests to use in advance. Once you take your test, snap a photo of the negative result to show at the door of each venue. Vaccine and Rapid Test Verification: Guests will submit photos of their vaccination cards after they RSVP. Negative same-day Covid test results will be shown at the door. Photos are fine. Travel: Please consider using N95/KN95 masks during your travel and visit to the Bay Area.

Where can I get COVID rapid tests?

Answer

For guests in the US, you can order 4 free COVID tests per household here: https://www.covidtests.gov/ All health insurance companies are now required to reimburse people for up to 8 rapid covid tests per month. Please check with your insurance company around how to get reimbursed. If you are having difficulties finding a rapid test, please reach out to the bride and groom at maggieandandres@gmail.com. We will do our best to help you find some!

Are masks required at the wedding weekend events?

Answer

We will require vaccination, booster shots, and negative same-day covid tests for each event. We encourage guests to wear KN95 or N95 masks if this will make them feel more safe and secure. Masks are required around the Berkeley City Club and other locations in Berkeley when not inside a private event. Our hope is that everyone will do what they need and want to do to feel safest. Wedding vendors will be asked to wear masks, but they will also be required to be vaccinated and provide a negative same-day covid test.

Where can I get a PCR test near the wedding venue?

Answer

We are requiring same-day rapid antigen testing for our wedding events. If you need or want a PCR test, our go-to testing site is "Test the People" in Oakland. It's a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue. They have both drive through and walk up testing. Results are usually available between 12-24 hours. You can schedule them here: https://www.testthepeople.org/ . We advise that you schedule your appointments ahead of time. They fill up quickly.
