Death Valley is a land of extremes, and you'll find yourself at the lowest point in North America if you take a trip to Badwater. It's a 30-minute scenic drive from the main hotels and campgrounds at Furnace Creek. There are lots of other scenic stops and hikes along the way.
This is one of Deanna's favorite locations. It turns a history lesson into a badass hike. You can keep it simple and stay close to the structures at the base of the mountain, or you can hike up a couple thousand feet while oohing and aahing at the structures left behind. Imagine being one of the miners on the sides of these mountains. Not for the faint of heart!
Never had a date shake? Now is the time. This is a fun stop for those planning to explore the area further. The date farm offers tours and has hiking on the property. It is located outside the National Park, so plan accordingly.
