It is strongly suggested to use our recommendations as complementary transport will be provided from and to the wedding, with these hotels as pick up and drop off points. MOVING AROUND: If you prefer not to drive, you can use FreeNow (the local taxi app) or Uber - in Greece, Uber connects you to licensed taxis. Most taxis accept credit and debit cards. CAR RENTALS Try using comparison sites like rentalcars.com or carjet.com to find the best rates. It’s usually more cost-effective to purchase their online insurance rather than the one offered at the rental desk. The main difference: with online insurance, you’ll pay upfront for any damage and later get reimbursed; with in-person insurance, you’ll pay more but won’t be charged in the event of an accident.

GETTING TO THASSOS

Getting to Thassos (Limenas) Thassos does not have an airport. The easiest way to reach Thassos is to fly into Kavala Airport and take the short ferry ride from the nearby port of Keramoti. The airport is located on the mainland, very close to the ferry port. The ferry port is Keramoti, a short 10-15 minute taxi ride from the airport. Taxi Cost is approximately €20–€25. * *Note:* There is no direct bus from the airport to the port, so we highly recommend sharing a taxi. The ferry from Keramoti to Thassos is approx. ~35–40 minutes. Ferries run very frequently (every 30–45 minutes during the day in summer). Reservations are generally not needed. You buy tickets at the kiosk in the port before boarding. Current Ticket Prices (2025) Adult Passenger:€5.00 – €6.00 Child (5–10 years):€3.00 – €4.00 Car (standard size):€20.00 – €25.00 You generally do not need to book in advance, but you can check the daily timetables here: https://www.go-thassos.gr/thassos-ferry-schedules-prices Please check the schedules closer to the date as they change seasonally. Thassos arrival: The ferry drops you off directly in the center of Limenas, which is the region we will be staying and very close to the wedding venue. Many hotels in Limenas are within walking distance of the port. Taxis are available at the port exit if your accommodation is further out or if you have heavy luggage.
