On a hot summer night in New York City, David came home to find Andrée, alone, studying in his bachelor's apartment in the East Village. Stunned by her beauty, David stumbled and asked "how can I help you?" to which Andrée replied, "please leave me alone". It was from that moment on, the two knew they were destined for a lifetime of happiness, and furry and human off-spring named after various Italian pasta and antipasti. Actually, that's not necessarily true. But that interaction did lead to a first date at Dante, where the two spent the night sipping negronis, a perfect complement to the wild boar ragu they devoured after the flatbread appetizer. However, this also was not a solidifying event for the couple. David persisted on for weeks, months, hoping that Andrée would return his calls or text messages confirming their next date. Ultimately, his boyish charm and devilishly good looks won her over, and the two were inseparable. Months pasts, even years, and the two recognized a love so powerful that it could not be kept between the two of them. They sought expansion in the form of a fluffy pup from Missouri, whom they named Rigatoni as they welcomed her into their Greenwich Village apartment. These were tumultuous times, but the couple learned to communicate, in ways they never had, to overcome the challenges of raising a puppy. Ultimately, they decided to move to Denver where they would continue to mature and grow as a family in their new (rented) home. In September 2020 we finally took the highly anticipated, monumental step next and got engaged. We cannot wait to celebrate, with our immediate family, the most sacred of unions in the natural beauty of Vermont when we marry on January 2nd, 2021. We look forward to the day that we can extend this celebration to the rest of our family and friends when the world heals. Until then, we are sending all of our love from afar. Love, David, Andrée & Rigatoni
