How it all started...

London, 2016

ANDE'S SIDE OF THE STORY: When I was planning to move to London for my Masters Degree, my brother-in-law (Zata) kindly suggested that he had a really good friend (Rodo), whom I should contact in case I had any questions about the city. A couple of minutes later, I checked him on Facebook, and I realized... He's single (and ready to mingle), good looking guy from BC and likes to travel! Splendid! So, there I was, sending the slightly awkward message introducing myself, "asking questions about the city", and he was so nice replying, that we kept texting for a while. The moment I arrived in London, he invited me for dinner at this Fish n' Chips place in Camden Town called "Hook". Since I was brand new to the city, I had no idea about the transportation system, that I arrived 20 minutes late to our first date! OMG I was so embarrassed. But when I first saw him, he was so relaxed, just chilling, enjoying a Pale Ale... We started talking and laughing, as if we had known each other for years! And before dinner was over, we got "Hooked"! RODO'S SIDE OF THE STORY: After 7 months in London, I got a random message from this girl Andrea. She was coming to London for graduate school and my good friend "Concu" recommended she reach out to me because I was a super cool dude. I had great recs and insights about the UK because I was basically a native Londoner at that point. It was very impressive. I barely checked out her profile, because mom taught me to not judge a book by its cover. But I saw a cute girl, successful entrepreneur (also doing a masters), and fellow traveler. Preliminary analysis was promising. I got my hopes up. I knew an in-person meeting was needed as I’m not a good texter. Once she arrived, I came up with a brilliant/original idea: fish and chips (typical native Londoner stuff). Then at dinner, I quickly realized she was way more impressive than me. I decided to go after her even though I was leaving. Somehow, I guess she liked me too, and here we are.
