Nitesh had been living in Chicago for nearly three years after moving from a quaint French town where he attended business school. Originally from a small Midwestern town, Andrea had called Chicago home for nearly thirteen years after moving to the city for college. In early 2022, Nitesh's business school friend, Abdul, and Andrea's college friend, Emily, invited them both to their engagement party. They struck up an easy, seamless conversation early in the evening, but parted ways without exchanging numbers or making any promises to continue exploring their connection.
