Eric and Andre went to high school together. Eric and Rachel went to college together! Then Andre met Rachel! Andre and Rachel first met in the middle of Covid in 2020 for Tracy Sun's birthday (Eric's wife!). We bonded over this one typo printed on a real estate ad in Cold Spring, NY. Fast forward to the end of summer 2021, Eric and Tracy hosted their house warming at their Astoria apartment and brought the two of us together once again! Rachel had sat next to Andre on a futon during the hangout. In the middle of a trivia game, Rachel jumped up from excitement and tipped Andre over the futon! After that day, Andre followed Rachel on Instagram! (Too bad Rachel hasn't posted anything since 2016). That Halloween, Andre and Rachel went on a haunted house tour where Rachel was thoroughly unfazed by the fake ghosts while Andre screamed the entire time (to get his money's worth). At the end of the night, we shared a quesadilla and a Mexican soda at the taco truck on 30th Ave in Astoria (paid through a random $20 Bill Andre found on the ground in front of the truck). That was the beginning of forever. We officially became a couple the Monday after Thanksgiving at the Joe and the Juice across from Bryant Park (where Rachel asked Andre if they were now boyfriend and girlfriend). We were "New York City long distance" for 2 years. Andre lived in Astoria and Rachel lived in South Brooklyn. We sat through hours of traffic on the BQE and the Van Wyck Expressway (still under construction) as we soon became each other's best friend. In the last 4 years, Andre has successfully taught Rachel how to play tennis. Rachel has convinced Andre to move to Brooklyn. Andre has made Rachel a baseball enthusiast #walkoffhomeruns Rachel has dragged Andre around the world to wherever flights are cheap. Andre has made Rachel a Knicks and Mets fan! Rachel has filled Andre's apartment with plants. Andre has convinced Rachel that she too can dead lift 200 pounds. Rachel bought Andre 4 different bikes and a couch off of Facebook marketplace. Andre drove our rental car into a highway reflector stick in Utah. Rachel lost (and found!) her wallet and passport in Oslo. Andre and Rachel dropped their go pro 30 feet in the ocean (and got it back!) Andre finished a marathon (successfully) with no training against Rachel's advice. Rachel kept cooking hodgepodge odd meals against Andre's advice. Andre paid Rachel to get iCloud storage after spending hours backing up her broken phone at the Apple store. And most recently, Andre and Rachel went and bought a ring. Put down a deposit at the restaurant. Told everyone they are getting married!
