Andrea is defined by her modest nature and love for the outdoors. She grew up in a few different areas, including Columbus and Chicago, before moving to her hometown, Tiffin. Andrea spent much of her formative years involved in various outdoors activities with her family, including fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking, and traveling, as well as sports like softball, gymnastics, and golf. Andrea's grandpa and father instilled in her a respect for nature and passion towards wildlife conservation. In high school, she was on the varsity golf team and started an all-girls team after 2 years of being co-ed. Andrea attended The Ohio State University from 2017-2022 where she earned a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, majoring in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife, with a minor in Spanish. She was also an executive board member of the Ohio State Ducks Unlimited chapter. Andrea then attended graduate school at Ohio State from 2022-2024 to earn a Master of Science degree in wildlife biology. Her research focuses on changing winter duck migration patterns across the Great Lakes region caused by warmer winter weather. This involves modeling historical data and using climate change models to predict future changes in duck abundance and distribution. She also worked at Winous Point Marsh Conservancy to gain field research experience with waterfowl. Andrea is currently finishing her research and anticipates graduating after defending her master's thesis in spring 2025.
Wesley Henkel
Groom
One of the first things you probably learned about Wesley upon meeting him is that he goes by his middle name and not his first name, Levi. Wesley grew up in a few different parts of Ohio, including Columbus and New Philadelphia before finally moving to Tiffin at a young age. Growing up, Wesley was involved in sports, including football, baseball, golf, and tennis, as well as musical outlets like stage plays, musicals, choir, and show choir. In high school, Wesley was a member of the varsity golf and tennis teams as well as the Tiffin Columbian 9/10 Men's Choir, Concert Choir, Choristers, and was a chorus member in three different musicals. Wesley attended The Ohio State University from 2016-2020 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, majoring in political science with minors in history and German. The most defining moments of his time at Ohio State were spent as a member of the Ohio State University Men's Glee Club and its a cappella group, the Statesmen. Wesley always aspired to be a member of a large professional ensemble, and he cherishes all the memories, music, and friends he made along the way. Wesley then attended The University of Toledo College of Law from 2020-2023 where he earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude. In law school, Wesley was a member and leader of various clubs, including Mock Trial, Moot Court, and was president of the Criminal Law Society. Wesley is now an associate attorney at Gallagher Sharp LLP in Toledo.
Emma Spurck
Maid of Honor
Sister of the Bride. Even though they are 10 years apart, Andrea and Emma are very close and always enjoy hanging out together. Emma is a sophomore at Tiffin Columbian High School and is on the varsity golf and swim teams. Andrea previously worked towards starting the first girls golf team at Columbian in fall 2015, making it even more special that Emma is now on that team. Emma and Andrea also enjoy hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time on Lake Erie with family. Emma always looks forward to the family summer RV trips with Andrea and exploring new areas out West. Colorado Springs, Colorado was Emma's favorite place that their family traveled to, where she enjoyed hiking at Pike's Peak and white water rafting in the Royal Gorge along the Arkansas River.
Brannon Henkel
Best Man
Brother of the Groom. Growing up, Wesley and Brannon were best friends and shared many activities together, including sports, musicals, choir, show choir, and playing and collecting old videos games. When they were younger, it was Brannon who was always the more outgoing brother instead of Wesley, who used to be the shy one. Although they each studied at different colleges, Wesley and Brannon lived together for three years as Brannon attended Bowling Green State University and Wesley attended law school at The University of Toledo. Brannon graduated from Bowling Green in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, cum laude, majoring in intervention specialism. He now teaches high school mathematics for a virtual academy in Ohio geared towards children with special needs.

Our Story
Andrea and Wesley met on the Tiffin Columbian high school co-ed golf team in 2013. Wesley had a crush on Andrea in high school, but (believe it or not) used to be extremely shy. After high school, Andrea and Wesley both went on to college at The Ohio State University. Wesley reached out to Andrea during her first semester, and they started hanging out often as friends. They both started as biology majors, then each later switched majors after suffering through chemistry, which was a formidable bonding experience. Andrea and Wesley began dating on December 8, 2017, after Andrea's dreaded chemistry final exam. After graduating from law school, Wesley initially moved to Yuma, Arizona to work as a public defender, but in July 2024 he shifted course and moved back to Ohio. Wesley proposed during a trip to Germany and Austria on August 19, 2023, at Schloss Purschenstein, a castle located in a small rural town of Saxony, Germany, that was originally built around the year 1200. Andrea and Wesley are excited to keep their anniversary day by getting married 7 years later on December 8th, 2024. Andrea and Wesley would be remiss if they did not mention their beloved cats: Boop, a large orange, hyper, and often entertaining cat from the Humane Society; and Jackie, a small gray tuxedo, who is smart, affectionate, and hails from a Jack in the Box parking lot in Yuma, Arizona. Boop and Jackie are looking forward to the many treats and toys they will receive in celebration of the wedding.
