Our Story (As told by Serg)

Back in 2012, Andrea transferred to Claremont High School for her senior year. On her first day of school, she didn’t know any of her classmates, how to get around campus, and she definitely didn’t know she was about to be in the same classroom as her future husband! That same day, I was walking to class with one of my closest friends, Shane Hewitt, on our first day of senior year. We were just finalizing a pact that we agreed upon for “no girlfriends during senior year” which was to be taken very seriously. About an hour later, a beautiful girl with soft eyes, and a gorgeous smile walked past me headed to the same class me and Shane were going to. I couldn’t take my eyes off her as she walked past me and almost broke my neck turning 180 degrees as she walked by. I asked who the girl with the long wavy hair was, and when Shane didn’t know, I called “dibs” right away. Under the strict laws of dibs, I only had a week to muster up the courage to introduce myself to Andrea, and when I finally did, it was game over. The whole “no girlfriends during senior year pact” was broken (I hope Shane can forgive me for that one). A few weeks later, the girl with the pretty smile and I were texting nonstop, listening to music together, hanging out with each other’s friend groups, and I liked her so much I asked her to the Homecoming Dance, which she said yes to in record time. I guess she was pretty interested too. Andrea and I started to officially date on December 29th, 2011, we were 18 years old.. as a matter of fact, I gave her a first besito right down the road from where we’re getting married. Later that year we went to Prom together and graduated high school. After high school, Andrea and I continued dating, went to junior college and then graduated one year apart at Cal Poly Pomona. We were each other’s support system in and out of school, we worked part time at a couple jobs and spent as much time together as we could within our busy schedules. Once we finished up college, we continued growing together. She was with me for plenty of good times, and more importantly she was my rock during a couple rough times. Although I took a long time to propose, Andrea and I were always talking about the future, and taking it slow to get to these stages of our relationship. Being that we met so young, we felt it was vitally important to make sure we understood who we were as individuals, so that we could be the best version of ourselves for each other. Needless to say, I am very proud of the woman I’m going to marry, and I can speak for the both of us when I say we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you. Cheers, we’ll see you July 12th.
