The White Mountain National Forest is full of hiking trails, rock climbing, mountain biking trails, beautiful views and waterfalls for all abilities.
If hiking isn't an option, you can drive up the auto road and visit the highest point in the Northeast!
Take the historic train to the summit of Mount Washington!
Drive along the Kanc, one of the most scenic highways in the United States. There are lots of pull offs for good views, waterfalls, and hiking trails. (Local Secret: When pulling off the road, get all four tires off the tar and you won't get a ticket.)
There are multiple covered bridges in the area if you like to check those out. Here are their most common names; "The Jackson Covered Bridge" aka "The Honeymoon Bridge," or "The Ellis River Covered Bridge," "The Bartlett Covered Bridge" aka "The Covered Bridge Shoppe," "The Albany Covered Bridge," "The Swift River Covered Bridge," and "The Saco River Covered Bridge."
Local Breweries include; Tuckerman Brewing, Sea Dog Brewing Company, Saco River Brewing, Moat Mountain Steakhouse and Brewing Company, and Ledge Brewing Company. Local Distilleries include: Cathedral Ledge Distilling and Tamworth Distilling
There are multiple state parks in the area. Echo Lake state park has great views of White Horse and Cathedral Ledge. Cathedral Ledge State Park has great rock climbing and a road to the summit of Cathedral with a nice view of North Conway. Crawford Notch State Park has the AMC Highland Center and some short and longer hikes with good views and waterfalls.
