Lago Maggiore

Lago Maggiore is the second largest lake in Italy (behind Garda and ahead of Como), and the northern part of the lake is actually in Switzerland. A quieter location, there are a few towns to explore along the lake. Lago Maggiore is also known for its botanical gardens!

Flight

Malpensa Airport

Milan has a few airports, and it is possible to reach Lago Maggiore via car or train from any of them. However, Malpensa is the closest of them to the lake at only ~30 minutes drive away.
