Jovani and I have known each other since we were little kids!! Back in 2006, my family took over the church in Oklahoma. I was 3 and Jovani was 4! He would come over to our house and play with my brother. Eventually, we moved to various places and ended up in Lubbock in 2021 lol. However, little did I know 15 years later I would reunite with him at our annual June Harvesters Conference in Amarillo, Texas! It was June of 2021 when he caught my eye. I remember it was a Thursday night and he was marching down the aisle for his church special going up to play the drums. (It was like the scene with Nick Jonas marching from Camp Rock… he might not like being reminded about this lol) We never really had a full conversation that year, but it was something about how he held himself spiritually that caught my eye. Life went on, and I just kept praying that God would help me find a Godly man that I would be spiritually compatible with. Well, fast forward to June of 2022 at our Harvesters. During lunch Allison and Jackie gave up their seats at Subway for Jov to sit by me. It was that day he officially asked to talk and get to know each other! Then November 27th of 2022, we started dating and the rest is history!!! I thank God for how everything worked out because His timing has been perfect in every way! I am excited to see how God will work in our marriage and our future family!

November 29th, 2024: On Thanksgiving Day after spending time with my family in Albuquerque, we headed back home to take our “family pictures” on Friday. Now this day came and I started to get ready as normal, but this day everyone was so quiet and adamant about me doing specific styles with my makeup and of course doing my nails! (I, of course, am very thankful for Stephy because she did them superb! lol) When my family would receive phone calls, if someone would be on speaker when they called they would yell “Tell them they are on speaker!” (Lol) I was really starting to wonder “What is wrong with having it on speaker about pictures?” Then started to head to the Texas Tech campus, but it was later than usual for when we take pictures. I kept asking about this and they would all tell me “It’s because the suns too bright!” lol We finally made it and took maybe two pictures. Me, being very clueless throughout this day, was texting Jov. This whole time I was thinking he was at work. I was telling him how the pictures were going. Well, I walk down this hallway area, and I see him pop around the corner and I said, “What in the world are you doing here?!” (Lol) After of course, giving him a BIG hug he took me by the hand and in front of the beautiful decoration (that you can see on the photo tab)!! He gave his speech and during this time I could not believe this was real! He got down on one knee and with the ring in his hand asked if I would marry him!?!?!We celebrated with our family and friends after!!! We are so happy and excited for this next chapter/new adventure that we get to do together forever!!! See you soon in Lubbock!!
