Our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors weather permitting. We recommend comfortable fall cocktail attire for guests. The reception will be indoors in a temperature-controlled barn – we recommend that all guests bring a cozy jacket or shawl for the barn, as we are going to do our best to leave several windows open for air flow. The average temperature this time of year is mid 60s during the day, mid 40s at night. Please note when you're planning your shoe choice that there are gravel walkways and some grassy areas outside.
Set up: The wedding ceremony & cocktail hour will take place outside, weather permitting. Our reception will take place in an indoor temperature-controlled barn. We are going to do our best to leave some windows open in the barn for air flow, so please do bring a cozy jacket or shawl! Masks: Masks are currently optional in Vermont. We encourage you to bring a mask for your travels and absolutely please feel free to wear a mask at the event and around the Inn if it makes you more comfortable! COVID tests: We ask that anyone who is not vaccinated obtain a COVID test the week prior to the event. Due to the slim possibility of breakthrough cases, we also encourage any guests who are vaccinated and have attended large gatherings in the 2 weeks prior to get tested as well. We will not be checking test results upon entry, we just ask that guests operate on the “honor system” and do their best to ensure they are not positive coming into the event.
We will name everyone in your party invited to our wedding on your invitation. Newborns who need to stay with their parents are of course welcome to do so during the ceremony, reception, and all events. If you have children, the Inn gave us the name of a babysitter they highly recommend and we'd be happy to share her contact information with you. Please reach out to us if you plan on bringing a young child to Vermont so we can help answer any questions. Thank you for your understanding!
The ceremony will start at approximately 3:30. We recommend that you plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony in order to give yourself enough time to park and take your seat.
Lyft and Uber are not readily available in this part of Vermont, so please plan accordingly! There is parking available on-site at the Inn. Please see the "Travel" section for the most up to date details on shuttle times between the Hampton Inn Bennington and the West Mountain Inn.
We would absolutely love to see you as much as possible all weekend, however it's up to you and your personal travels! The "Things to Do" section has several recommendations if you're interested in creating a fun weekend itinerary in southern VT.
With limited space, the West Mountain Inn is primarily reserved for immediate family and the wedding party. However, there are a lot of great lodging options in the area, highlighted on the "Travel" page – and please let us know if you have any questions.
Please reach out to Annie or JP!
