Jeff and I were set up by his dad Tim and my sister Maria. Maria had met Jeff and his dad earlier in the year when they did some painting for her house. As Jeff recounts, Maria mentioned to him that she had a single sister in conversation. Of course, Jeff didn't think anything of it. The next time Jeff and Tim came to paint for Maria, Tim pulled Maria to the side and asked if I could come to the job to meet Jeff. Maria asked me to come out to her house to meet Jeff at the end of the day. The first day I was unable to get out of work in time to meet them. The second day I made sure to get to Maria's to meet him. When I got there my sister was nowhere to be found. This is the part Jeff and I often joke about. Our first meeting was in the hallway as I walked into Maria's house. I was walking into the hallway as Jeff was coming out of the bathroom. The conversation was something like "Hey!" and "Hello!". When Maria got home she introduced us. Jeff and I casaully chatted as he quickly cleaned up. I wasn't sure if any meaningful connection happened in that 5 minutes. However, after friending him on facebook, a day later I got a message back from him. He shared his phone number with me and told me to text or call him. We texted and talked on the phone the following week. Then Jeff asked if we could meet up and I suggested we go to Round 1. It was the best first date I every had. The rest is history.
