Every couple has a story, but what makes this particular one unique are the circumstances which led to all the pieces coming together at the right time. Andrea was coaching at Hamilton High School. The girls she coached knew dating was put on the back burner. A bet was made at the start of the season if the girls won the league championship, they would help Andrea out with her dating life by creating an online profile. Andrea agreed and the girls went undefeated in league! Jason had been accepted in the newly created US Air Force Enlisted Pilot Program. Jason had to attend several courses across several states to learn his new job, including California. One of Jason’s favorite hobbies is hiking, and he loves to visit as many locations as he can when he travels. Jason decided to create an online profile to see if anyone would be interested in hiking. Each created a profile, matched, and Andrea reached out with her great opening line, “Hey!”. They conversed with each other before deciding to meet in person. First date was mini golf, dinner, and a walk around downtown. Second time meeting up was a hike at Bidwell Park. It was a great hike and they both still enjoyed each other’s company; but, Jason was finished with training and would be leaving the following day. Jason and Andrea knew they enjoyed what they had experienced. Conversation continued for the next couple months before they decided to meet in person again, with Jason traveling out to California for a long weekend. During that visit, they decided to give dating a chance, realizing the potential difficulties ahead. Over the next year and a half, both traded traveling back and forth to visit each other. On November 8, 2020, Jason gave Andrea the best birthday gift she could have asked for, her hand in marriage, and from that “yes!” led us to where we are now, both Jason and Andrea committing to that next step, which will see them spending the rest of their lives exploring life together!
