Things To Do

We hope you arrive in Brooklyn on Saturday 7/30, which gives you the evening and morning to enjoy New York before our ceremony.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

334 Furman Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
, (718) 222-9939

Fintan once brought Andrea on a bike ride to the Brooklyn Bridge Park, he had made a picnic of poached salmon and white wine. They laid out a blanket to enjoy their meal and out of nowhere a pianist started playing. Why is there a piano in a park? Only in New York do these things simply happen. It was romantic and special and solidified their love of this area. We recommend on Sunday morning taking a walk down the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and enjoying the spectacular views of Manhattan. You can stroll into Dumbo for some iconic sight-seeing and ice cream. Lunch at River Cafe on the water is an excellent way to close your day in New York before our ceremony and festivities begin.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225
, (718) 623-7200

Also located in Prospect Park are the stunning Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. We highly recommend a trip here - they have exciting installations and July will be a truly spectacular month to visit their 250+ acres.

Prospect Park

Brooklyn, NY
, (718) 965-8951

Prospect Park is a stunning park which is where our ceremony will be held. If you want to get there early, you can spend some time walking the beautiful grounds, enjoying the outdoors and exploring a little piece of nature in this urban jungle!

Midtown Manhattan

New York, NY

If you want to get to the neighborhood home to the Empire State Building, Macy's, Times Sq and Central Park, take a trip over the bridge for a morning of sight-seeing! Hop on the A,C train from Jay St Metrotech and travel for a half hour to 34th St Penn Station for Macy's and Empire State building or Times Sq 42nd St for Times Sq. Pro-tip, the Times Sq display is much more impactful at night than during the day! If you'd like to spend some time in Central Park take the same train about 5 minutes further to 59 St Columbus Circle .

West Village

New York, NY

If you want to see tree-lined streets, historic brownstones and a quaint-ness you may have never known existed in Manhattan, spend a couple hours in the West Village. This is the neighborhood Andrea fell in love with as a teenager and decided to move to NYC. Pick up a few Irish delicacies at Meyers of Keswick and take a walk through Washington Sq Park to see some street performers and even live music. This is a 20 minute subway ride from Jay St Metrotech on the A,C, or F train to W 4th St Wash Sq.

SoHo

New York, NY

If you'd like to take advantage of NYC shopping, Soho is your destination. This is a 20 minute train ride from Jay St Metrotech on the C train to Spring St or the F train to Broadway Lafayette.

Fraunces Tavern

54 Pearl Street, New York, NY 10004
, (212) 968-1776

If you're feeling adventurous Saturday night and want to venture into Manhattan, we recommend Fraunces Tavern. Fraunces Tavern® is a landmarked building that once served as a watering hole for many of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America including George Washington himself. It is home to some of the most authentic Irish stout in the US and they often have live music on Saturday nights. This establishment is owned by one of Fintan's closest friends Eddie, who will be an attendee at our wedding. To get here it is a quick 15 minute train ride on the 4,5 train from the Borough Hall station to Bowling Green.

190 Dean Street, Boerum Hill, NY 11217
, (718) 576-3209

Traditional rustic northern Italian restaurant. Does take reservations through Resy app. Is in Boerum Hill which is just south of Downtown Brooklyn and is Andrea's favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Noodle Pudding

38 Henry Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
, (718) 625-3737

This is one of the best Italian places in Brooklyn. However they don't take reservations and the wait times can be long. It's also cash-only. A bit high maintenance, but if you want some truly excellent Italian food this is the spot.

Luzzo's BK
