Cat Parents Get Meowied

Annie and Eddie work together in the call center, as a mentor Annie got to meet the new trainees and Eddie caught her eye as a nice young man that could be a potential suitor for Andrea in January 2017. When she asked his age though she thought, Andrea won't go for him being 8 years older. Several months later, while on a cross country road trip to see Jacob graduate from Army Officer training in Virginia, Annie brought up her coworker Eddie. She showed Andrea his Facebook and asked if Andrea would be interested in being introduced to him. Andrea noticed that he had attended a beer event at the Botanical Gardens that she had previously attended, that he spent time with his parents who were adorable in pictures, and that he had recently posted one of her favorite songs- September by Earth, Wind, and Fire. Andrea accepted Annie's offer to introduce them. When Annie returned to work the following week, she approached Eddie and asked if he liked girls and if he was currently dating anyone. Eddie who had known Annie for months and was taken aback by her sudden interest in his love life was hesitant to answer but answered correctly on all fronts. Annie said "well I have a daughter, go look on my Facebook you'll know which one" and left it at that. A couple of days later Eddie came and told Annie he would like to meet Andrea and Annie gave him her phone number with the suggestion to approach via Facebook per Andrea's request. Eddie and Annie had bonded during his time there over bagels he would occasionally bring to work for his team and any of his friends in the call center. Eddie learned that Annie liked a certain flavor that most people didn't ask for- Asiago. So that was his opening line- "I bribed your mom with an asiago bagel for your number." The beginning of our cheesy love story started with a cheesy bagel.

For Valentine's Day, Eddie and Andrea took the day off of work like they did their very first Valentine's together. Eddie had the whole day planned and did not reveal the plans until the morning of- breakfast at home from their usual taco place, then a drive to New Braunfels to make their own candles together and lunch at Inferno's Pizza to try the scorpion pepper goodies, and finally, a road trip to Fredericksburg for a helicopter ride surrounded by hot air balloons and fireworks in the evening. While in the helicopter that had no doors or siding protection Eddie bravely pulled out his phone to show Andrea a note he had written asking "Will you be my co-pilot for life?" Of course, the answer is YES! After we safely landed and were out of the way he got on his knee and pulled out the ring to show her. Before driving home we called our parents and Eddie text Andrea's siblings to let them know it was official! When we got home a quick photo shoot with our fur children was how we announced our engagement to the world.

Legally our marriage license says we were married on September 21, 2020. If you look it was a Monday, we chose this date for a reason and after we chose, the universe let us know it was always meant to be this day. One of our favorite songs and the song we most often refer to as "our song" is September by Earth, Wind, and Fire. This was a song that we bonded over on date number one. Eddie had shared it to his social media in September of 2017 just before we would meet. It has always been one of Andrea's favorite songs so it was points towards Andrea liking Eddie early on. Eddie is named after one of each of his parents favorite uncles Eduardo and Leopoldo. We didn't realize until November 2020 that Tio Eduardo died on September 21st. On the other side, Andrea’s Uncle David was born on September 21st. Finally, one of the reasons Andrea knew Eddie was a keeper on the second date was he took her to the Spurs season opener. During their first date while discussing being fans of the Spurs Andrea correctly remembered a key play involving Kawhi. Eddie disagreed about the play, but when Andrea pulled it up online to show him, he couldn't help but be impressed. Any Spurs fans since their first championship in 1999 will know that "The Big Three" were Tony Parker (9), Tim Duncan (21), and Manu Ginobili (20). So we joke that we were such big fans that date had to be our wedding date.
