Question

Will you be providing transportation for the wedding events?

Answer

Yes, we will provide transportation for the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and wedding! See below for details for each event. We will not provide transportation for the lunch with the newlyweds on Saturday. You may drive (paid street parking available) or take Uber, Lyft, or a taxi to Barcocina on Saturday. If you prefer public transit, walk to the brown line stop at the Merchandise Mart (a 7 minute walk from the Westin). Take the brown line north to Diversey. Barcocina is a 3 minute walk from the Diversey brown line stop. The Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner (wedding party and invited family only)- A shuttle will pick up the wedding party from the Westin at 4:45 pm and take them to the Old Post Office for the rehearsal. If you are local or staying someone other than the Westin, please plan your own transportation to arrive at the Old Post Office at 5:00 pm. Once the rehearsal is complete, the shuttle will take the wedding party to Gibsons Italia. For those invited to the rehearsal dinner who are not attending the rehearsal, please drive, walk (15 minute walk from the Westin), and take Uber, Lyft or a taxi to Gibsons Italia. The shuttle will leave at 9:00pm to take all guests from the rehearsal dinner back to the Westin. The Wedding- Shuttles will arrive at 4:15 pm at both the Westin and Marriot hotels and drive all guests to the Old Post Office. If you miss the 4:15 pm shuttle bus, please take Uber, Lyft, or a taxi to the Old Post Office as the shuttles will only be making one trip. You may arrive starting at 4:30 pm. Please plan to arrive by 4:45 pm to ensure you are seated and ready for the ceremony to begin promptly at 5pm. The ceremony space is intimate and late arrivals will be disruptive. Starting at 10:30 pm, shuttles will begin making trips from the Old Post Office back to the Westin and Marriot hotels. Shuttles will leave every 30-45 minutes. The last shuttle will leave at the end of the after party, at 1:00am.

Question

Can I drive to the wedding? Will I be able to park?

Answer

Yes you may drive to the Old Post Office and park in the underground parking garage. We will provide parking passes for those parking so you will not have to pay to park. Spots are limited so if you are able to take uber or the shuttle please do. The parking garage is located at 404 W Harrison. There is construction so cannot turn right onto Harrison from Canal street. From 433 W Van Buren (in front of The Old Post Office), follow this detour to access the parking garage: Go west on Van Buren Street to Canal Street. Turn right (north on Canal). Turn right (east on Jackson Blvd to Wells Street. Turn right (south on Wells Street) to Harrison Street. Turn right (west on Harrison Street) and travel past the sign blocking the road to through traffic until you arrive at 404 West Harrison Street on your right (west of Chicago River). This document provides details instructions on accessing the garage from different areas of the city with a map and pictures: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16sB17AxLltalBX0CTlgqfWp064XSbZg0/view?usp=sharing

Question

I am planning to take a taxi or rideshare (Uber, lyft) instead of driving or taking the shuttle. Where should I go?

Answer

Please instruct your rideshare or taxi to drop you off at 433 W Van Buren. When you arrive, please walk north on W Van buren towards the river and enter through the black gate on your right to access the riverwalk patio. An usher will be present to direct you. We will be welcoming guests by the river with music and beverages before going into the ceremony space.
