Dan was my roommate at Long Beach State and has remained a close dear friend ever since. The best way to describe Daniel is that he is an experience. Assuredly the most brilliant person I know (but don't tell him I said that), he can hold a conversation about anything from chemistry to financial planning to philosophy. Daniel's most defining characteristic is actually more than his intelligence, it's his humanity. He has spent time learning compassion at a Buddhist monastery and has also volunteered for hospice care. Dan has played an outsized role in my life and has truly helped to shape the person I am today.

Brian Liu

Brian was the first person I met at Long Beach State and has remained a very close friend ever since. We have gone on countless backpacking, fishing and hunting adventures together, with many more to come! Brian is the most loyal friend I know and has been a constant source of strength and support for me throughout my adult life. When the chips are down, Brian is the man to call!

Mike Smirke

Mike has been my sister's boyfriend for almost ten years now and we became great friends almost immediately. I've been fortunate enough to spend loads of time with Mike fishing, shooting and enjoying country music together. We like to joke that I stole him from her (sorry sis!). Mike is the the most honest and forthright person I know; if you left a dollar at his house it would still be there the next time you came over, be it one week or one year later. He's an amazing man and I'm honored to have him as a groomsman.

John Bowers

Groomsman

John is my younger brother and one of my best friends. Growing up we used to spend hours upon hours playing basketball, wrestling in our living room after drinking too much kool-aid, and pretty much causing a ruckus for our poor parents. John has a beautiful family of his own now in Washington and I'm so excited to watch his daughter give him hell as payback. John is a straight-shooter in the best sense. He acts exactly how he feels and there is no fakeness or duplicity with him; which is refreshing and something I truly admire.

Little Emily, or M&M as I like to call her, is the gorgeous daughter of John and Ilene Bowers and my perfect niece. She's fluent in baby sign language and absolutely loves music! So far her favorites are Nirvana and bluegrass; great job mom and dad!
