The Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia is the closest major airport to Hacienda Pinilla, about a 1.5-hour drive away. It offers many direct flights from the U.S., Canada, and Europe, making it the most convenient option for travelers heading to Guanacaste. Booking Tip: We recommend booking your flight well in advance, especially if you're traveling during the high season (December to April), as flights can fill up quickly. 2. Arriving at Liberia International Airport Immigration and Customs: Upon arrival, you’ll go through immigration and customs. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least SIX months beyond your travel dates and have your flight details handy. Currency Exchange: While U.S. dollars are widely accepted in Costa Rica, it’s helpful to have some local currency (Costa Rican colón) for smaller purchases or tips. Feel free to explore other beautiful accommodation options just minutes from Hacienda Pinilla. You don't have to stay at the JW Marriott to enjoy your stay! Tamarindo is a popular beach town located just a short drive from Hacienda Pinilla. It offers a wide range of accommodations, from budget-friendly hostels to luxury resorts. Tamarindo has a vibrant nightlife, numerous dining options, and plenty of activities, making it a great base for exploring the area. Playa Avellanas is another nearby beach known for its beautiful scenery and excellent surfing conditions. There are several boutique hotels and rental properties in the area, offering a more secluded and tranquil atmosphere compared to Tamarindo. Consider renting a villa or vacation home in or near Hacienda Pinilla. Many private rental properties offer a more intimate and personalized experience, with amenities such as private pools, chef services, and stunning ocean views. Please be aware that although Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo may appear close on the map, they are actually about a 30-40 minute drive from the JW Marriott.
