FAQs

I hope these answer a few questions, if not, you can always email us at boochysimms@gmail.com before the wedding. Unless it's an emergency, please do not call or text Josh and I the day of the wedding - we need to find our happy place before we do the thing.
Question

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Answer

Mexico!!!

Question

Why is your wedding on a Sunday?

Answer

Because we got a budget baby!

Question

Where is Izzie?

Answer

As much as we want her with us, she would be a hot anxious mess with all the commotion. She's at doggy day care getting belly rubs.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are, sort of. We would love gifts towards our honeymoon. Click on the registry tab at the top for more info.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

3:20 please. If you're late please don't interrupt the ceremony. Andrea might cut you.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Sure! We will have gluten-free options at the reception, but if you have other food requests let me know.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yep. There will be parking attendants to guide you where to park from the road.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There is not anything arranged by us.

Question

Who is going to marry you?

Answer

Our dear friend Holly is going to officiate our wedding. She has been our NC mom to both Josh and I. We've spent countless family game nights and holidays at her house, earning her the nickname MaHolly. She's been there from the very start, and has had us under her wings,

Question

Where's your wedding party?

Answer

Josh and I decided not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen for our wedding. We have a community of friends that we cherish, but we decided to not incorporate this tradition into our wedding.

Question

Where do you live?

Answer

Josh has lived in Durham going on 7 years, and I moved from Raleigh to Durham in 2014. We've lived together in our townhouse since 2015. We live just south of Downtown Durham off MLK/HopeValley.

Question

I heard Durham is sketchy, am I going to get shot?

Answer

Umm, no. Durham is an up and coming city. There are rich neighborhoods with mega mansions by Duke, and there are some sketchy areas where I wouldn't drive during the day. Stay to the west and south of downtown, and you'll be ok. All of the places to visit/eat that we've recommended are in safe neighborhoods. If you plan on staying at an AirBnB or rental house, be sure to email us before you make your reservation. We can let you know if that's a safe place to stay.

Question

Can I bring a gift to your wedding?

Answer

Sure! Gifts and cards are welcome. We will have a table set up inside for gifts.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Well I'm wearing a big fancy dress, and Josh is going to wear a tux. You cannot look better than us :) Comfortable dress clothes - preferably layers. It's an outdoor wedding in the NC fall. Last year is was 70 degrees on that day, and then 40 degrees the next weekend. The reception will be indoors with heating/AC.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Sorry, but no. This is a grown up party. Enjoy the night off.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and guest" then yes! Bring a date, a sibling, or friend. We want you to enjoy the night with someone. One of Andrea's pet peeves when she was single was being asked to weddings without a plus one.

Question

Will there be alcohol served?

Answer

Hell yeah. We will have an open bar with beer, wine and champagne. Bring some cash for tips.

Question

Do you guys have Uber/Lyft?

Answer

Durham has both, but the only one that serves the wedding venue is Lyft. Make sure to schedule your pickup from the venue ahead of time if using Lyft!

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Google it! We will also have balloons out on the intersections closer to the venue. In case of cell tower failure, head north on I-85 out of Durham. Exit 191, take a left on HW 56, then your first right onto W Lyon Station Rd. Take a right on Brogden Rd. Take a left on Hester Rd. Left on Thollie Green. In about a mile you'll see the sign for Vino Oasi on the right.
