We met on the dating app HER. We matched and Andrea sent the first message of “Hello :)”. Amber answered and we opened a conversation about music and life. Andrea told these cheesy jokes that stole my heart. “What do you call a bear with no teeth?! A gummy bear!” Which made Amber think, “What a dweeb… I’ll keep her!…” the rest is history. We’ve been together for 8 years and engaged for 6. It’s about time the government knew we aren’t just roommates!

Two days before our 2 year anniversary, Amber took me to the beach (my favorite place) in Corpus Christi, TX, laid out a blanket near the ocean, and gave me the most thoughtful present I’ve ever received. A scrapbook of sorts of all the things we had done and all the things we wanted to do together. She gifted me a necklace that said on the lid of the box “Will you spend forever with me?” To which I said yes.. she said “you need to wait!!!” She got down on one knee with a gorgeous blue sapphire ring and asked me to marry her. So I said yes a second time! She confused me! It wasn’t perfect but I was so happy in the moment it didn’t matter.

Andrea proposed on the Riverwalk after I had proposed to her… I wanted a proposal too! She proposed on Marriage Island behind Hotel Contessa. It was romantic and close, lit up by the soft glow of Christmas lights in the trees. She got one knee with Alex and Sarah watching nearby. A tour boat passed us as she asked the question and people applauded. We went to Paesanos for dinner with my future in-laws after 🍝
