We’re getting married!

Oh boy, the proposal! The proposal starts off with me having an attitude about being prompted to, "dress warm and wear hiking boots" for our valentines date. It was cold and very rainy, I wasn't really feeling up to hiking around in the weather on the one day that we were finally getting to go on a date. I had been looking forward to getting dressed up, curling my hair, and putting some make up on... you know being girly. So, that is exactly what I did anyways. The next day, I dressed in my favorite dress and my cute little black booties. I walked down stairs to leave and Charlie says to me, with a confused look on his face, "that doesn't look warm." Still being stubborn I said, "it is valentines day and I want to look pretty and I don't want to wear hiking boots." ...Not my best moment. We sent the kids off to the bus and hit the road. I noticed we were headed north and after reminding Charlie of the gross weather one last time, I shook the annoyed girlfriend attitude and remembered how lucky I am to have someone this excited to surprise me for valentines day. We pulled up to a view point on the coast and parked. The rain was blowing sideways, it was super gloomy and cold. Charlie nonchalantly busted out a perfectly packed picnic that we ate in the car right in front of the heater. We drank our wine and watched the waves roll in. Even though the weather was awful and we were limited on time, it was so nice getting away together, alone. Before leaving, Charlie suggested we walk down shore a little ways. We were having a conversation about some future plans and that's when he kneeled down and asked me to spend forever with him. He brought tears to my eyes, instantly. Ugly Crying like a blubbering baby I said, "NO! you can't do this to me, not today! I was such a brat all morning, this will be our story forever!" I pulled him up off of his knee and held onto him and cried some more. We adore each other and are so excited to get married!!
