Same love, new vows.

Twenty years ago, we began our marriage the way many military couples do — quickly, bravely, and with a whole lot of love. We dated and lived together for ten months, were engaged for just six days, and were married on a beach in Kailua, Oahu. Surrounded by our closest military friends, we said “I do” knowing that not all of our family could be there due to the realities of military life and scheduling. While that day was perfect in its own way, we always held a quiet hope that one day we would celebrate again — with family and friends by our side. Now, more than twenty years later, we are incredibly grateful to be renewing our commitment as we set our sights on an even bigger milestone: forty years of marriage. This time, we are celebrating on a different island — the beautiful country of Ireland. While separated by oceans, Hawaii and Ireland share something deeply meaningful to us: cultures rooted in love, connection, and community. Our relationship has had the ups and downs that all meaningful relationships experience. Over the past 21 years, we’ve learned that anything worth doing requires effort — and that effort goes even further when love is applied. Through communication, understanding, passion, and mutual respect, we’ve grown together, supported one another, and continued choosing each other every day. Our journey has been shaped not only by our own commitment, but by the friends and family who have stood beside us, supported us, challenged us, and helped keep our story alive. That is why this celebration isn’t just about us — it’s about all of you. We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for considering this trip when we first shared the idea years ago. We understand the logistical and financial commitment an international celebration requires, and we truly appreciate the thought, effort, and love behind every decision to join us.
