Things To Do

San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

One of the landmarks of San Diego where steps will be maxed out. This address is for the San Diego Zoo (near the wedding venue); however there is also the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido that is also highly recommended.

Fallen Star

Fallen Star

Engineers Lane, San Diego, CA 92161

Located at UC San Diego--the university where Andy and Isabel first met in Physics lecture. Access to the Fallen Star requires an appointment.

Torrey Pines Gliderport

Torrey Pines Gliderport

2800 Torrey Pines Scenic Drive, San Diego, CA 92037

A place famous among UCSD students as one of the few remaining free parking spaces left (street side or on gravel). The cliffs at the end of the road are open for a sunset viewing or to simply watch paragliders float along the oceanfront. A cliffside trail leads down to the infamous Blacks Beach.

Salk Institute for Biological Studies

Salk Institute for Biological Studies

10010 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA 92037

On Isabel's list to visit. Located on the same street as Torrey Pines Gliderport. Requires an appointment.

Bike and Kayak Tours, Inc.

Bike and Kayak Tours, Inc.

2158 Avenida De La Playa, San Diego, CA 92037

We pay tribute to our tour guide, who became a popsicle swimming in the sea caves to guide our kayaks in. A great experience with tales to tell.

Escape Era Escape Room

Escape Era Escape Room

5830 Oberlin Drive, San Diego, CA 92121

We loved taking friends with us to solve Escape Era rooms.

DJK Korean BBQ(Dae Jang Keum)

DJK Korean BBQ(Dae Jang Keum)

7905 Engineer Road, San Diego, CA 92111

You can't come to San Diego without eating at Convoy District, which is known for their diverse array of authentic asian cuisines. DJK, in particular, is fondly remembered as part of THE proposal day. The restaurant itself is known for their coal fired Korean bbq.

Annie's Canyon Trail

Annie's Canyon Trail

2550 Via Poco, Encinitas, CA 92007

One of the memorable staycation spots we went to. The one-way canyon trail opens up into the expansive San Elijo lagoon.
