All summer long our mutual friend, Phoebe Zorn, kept trying to get us to meet, but work and everything else kept getting in the way. Finally, we were both invited to attend a Halloween party that Wyatt wasn't even that interested in going to. Phoebe and I got dressed up in costumes and headed to pick up the boys. I walked in the door and immediately our eyes met and at that moment I knew there was something there! He scrambled to find a 'costume' so he could come out with us! I had no idea it wasn't his plan all along. Our first official date was a few days later and we've pretty much been inseparable ever since...
On the 7th anniversary of the day we met I had a sneaking suspicion that he was going to propose since we had talked about going for a hike and doing some special things that day. We were up late celebrating one of our very good friends, Becca Laflin's birthday the night before so we ended up both being too tired to hike that day. I figured, 'oh well, there's always next year'. Well, we decided to do something to celebrate 7 years together on the following day instead, so we cooked together, put on nice clothes and had ourselves a fancy dinner date at home (since going out for a dinner date in 2020 was a little complicated). Shortly after we sat down, he got up to get something and when I turned around he was down on one knee!
