Travel Note
Traveling by Plane
While Abilene does have an airport, it is accessible only by flights via American Airlines with a required connecting flight from DFW International Airport. There are no direct flights to Abilene unless flying from DFW International. You can also fly into the DFW International Airport and drive to Abilene which generally takes around 3 hrs depending on traffic. Flying into Dallas Love Field and driving to Abilene takes 3.5-4 hrs depending on traffic as well.
