Best friends since 2007! In middle school we fully convinced Abbi’s brother that I was adopted by their parents because I was at their house that often. We have played an obnoxious amount of Uno and I think that was a tell tale sign that we would become homebodies as adults. Watching our kids grow up together will always be my favorite memory for us.

Friends since 2007, then again, who hasn’t been friends with Kelsey for years?! She’s the sweetest, strongest and most genuine person I’ve ever met. Although I will fully blame her for being the bad influence that convinced me to sneak out all the time. Sorry mom and dad.

Met Doug through roofing at Hoekstras. We are so happy to have Josh and his wife, Alex, in our lives and so honored that he accepted our offer to have him marry us. They are the type of friends we can reach out to for anything. They’re the first to show up at birthday parties just so they can help us set up if we haven’t finished yet, and surprisingly, we were never finished setting up by the time they got there.

Best friends with Doug since they were 5! They had no choice in their friendship because after baseball games both of their dads would talk for HOURS about cars. Though it’s a mystery how they managed to stay friends after Junior made the mistake of straying away from Ford and bought a Camaro. Until his Chevy truck blew three transmissions and two engines in 2 years. Don’t worry though, he came to his senses and drives a Ford again.

Doug met Josh through his brother, Heath. Josh ruined Doug’s life by introducing him to Call of Duty, making him a video game addict ever since. Josh moved out of Michigan around 2012 and they’ve managed to stay connected through PlayStation. As excited we are for Josh to come back to Michigan to be part of our wedding, I think we are most excited for Laikyn to meet Josh’s daughter, Nova.

Colt and Doug have known each other for about 4 years. After being roommates while working away from home in Alabama they became good friends. Doug’s favorite memory with Colt is fishing every day, while they were out of state, and Colt not catching a single fish the entire time.

I mean, does she really need a description? The sass is real with this one. Mommy’s best friend and Daddy’s pain in the butt. There’s no doubting this girl is all mama’s and loves terrorizing her dad to get all the attention she can get. She’s so kind and smart and makes her Mommy and Daddy so proud.

This rough and tough boy is the bravest little thing I’ve ever seen. He has no fear and throws caution to the wind. He is a total Daddy’s boy but loves poking fun at him and telling him that he is Mommy’s baby. He is such a good and sweet boy unless you are playing with monster trucks and then he’s the Monster Jam champ at crushing everything in his path.
