Save the Date!
Dan and Sarah's story began in 2017, when they connected on OKCupid. Both worked in the live events industry, and Sarah was immediately interested in Dan's profile picture of him working a show. Dan claims he messaged first, Sarah's not so sure. They quickly hit it off, chatting about their shared experiences in the chaotic world of concerts and events. Though Dan was in Maine for a gig and they couldn’t meet right away, their connection deepened through text. Eventually, when Dan returned to Baltimore, they met for their first date: pizza and bar hopping in Fells Point. The chemistry was instant, and over the next year, they grew closer, falling in love while exploring the city together. A standout memory from their time together was a spontaneous trip to New York City, where they strolled the High Line and stayed in a cozy Japanese-style boutique hotel in Chelsea. The weekend was simple, yet perfect, filled with easy conversation and the kind of connection they both cherished. But despite their growing bond, life eventually drove them apart. They didn’t speak for six years, each going their separate ways—Sarah moving to Las Vegas and Dan continuing his work on the road. The love they shared remained, but the timing just wasn’t right. In 2023, Dan found himself in New York again, on tour. The memory of their trip resurfaced, and he decided to reach out, texting Sarah after all these years. To his surprise, she responded. They picked up their conversation where they left off, and their connection was just as strong as ever. As quickly as they could manage, Dan arranged to visit Sarah and her cat Jeffrey in Las Vegas. Their reunion was effortless, and it didn’t take long for them to realize their love had never truly faded. As they spent more time together, they realized they wanted to take the next step. They moved to Oak Park, Illinois together in early 2024, ready to build a future. With Dan's cat Zelda now a part of the mix, they created a home that felt like the beginning of something real. With Dan taking time away from touring and not traveling as much, they could finally focus on their relationship without interruptions. In the summer of 2024, at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin, Dan knew it was time. At the Pig and Whistle Tavern, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the fair (and the tunes of a medieval punk rock band), he proposed to Sarah. “Will you marry me?” he asked, and without hesitation, she said yes. Their journey, filled with twists and turns, had led them back to each other, and they couldn’t wait to start the rest of their lives together.
