We met each other a little over 5 years ago while working at Dick’s Bar and Grill in Osseo. To our surprise we both attended Tooterville Preschool, Fernbrook Elementary, Osseo Junior High, and even attended the same college at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Although our paths did not cross until years later, when we worked together at the bar. We were friends for years before we started dating in November 2021. Before we started dating, Chris had asked me out on a few dates, such as mini golf and a concert, not realizing they were dates but as two friends just hanging out. Chris started thinking I was not interested but that changed when I invited Chris to come hang out at my sister Katie’s house and where Chris met Nicole’s new puppy, Rusty. We started hanging out more and I invited Chris to attend the Sable Family Thanksgiving dinner. Before dinner, my dad gave Chris a personal shout out for attending. That night, he asked me to be his girlfriend. As a couple, we enjoy taking trips to Duluth, up the North Shore, fishing, agate hunting, boating, going to breweries, watching shows on Netflix, cooking, grilling and anything that involves the outdoors.

Lauren and I were at the cabin over Labor Day weekend, along with all of her family. Lauren and I were cleaning the kitchen from lunch and Lauren had asked me to put the crock-pot away. Me, being extremely nervous because I was planning on asking her to marry me after we were done, put the entire crock-pot in the fridge, not just the insert she was referring to and she starting laughing nonstop at me because I was acting weird. We finally had a moment alone and I quickly had Lauren follow me out of the cabin toward the shed, which also happened to be close to the outhouse (super romantic). Lauren told me to stop acting so weird and to let her go back into the cabin so she could change. Thinking we were alone, I dropped down to one knee and asked Lauren to marry me! She happily said yes! I got up and gave Lauren a big hug and a kiss but this is where we noticed Lauren’s niece, Maddie, and nephew, Isaac had been watching us. Maddie and Isaac ran back to the rest of the group and found Lauren’s dad, where they told him they saw us kiss on the lips!
