It is the age-old tale, of online dating. James and Kristin matched on Hinge and James sent the first message. Of course he spelled Kristin's name wrong ("en" instead of "in") and usually that is a big NO for Kristin, but James quickly corrected himself before Kristin could even respond. Kristin decided to let this one slide (best decision of her life). Then after chatting for a few days, the two decided to go on a date together at Mexicue in Stamford. At this point, Kristin had started to pick up on James's "unique" sense of humor, fortunately for the two of them Kristin's sense of humor is very similar. About an hour and a half before the first date James texted Kristin and said he would be waiting outside Mexicue holding up a giant poster with her name on it. Kristin, realizing the joke decided to take it to the next level and say that she could not longer come (because of that very weird, James-like comment). James had been talking with one of his now groomsmen, Mike Ross, when this happened and told him that he totally blew the date and scared Kristin off. James was getting ready to stay in for the night and deal with his poor decisions, BUT thankfully, Kristin texted him before leaving letting him know she was on her way because no surprise Kristin was late for their first date. Fast forward two years and eight months at the very same spot that the two first met outside of Mexicue, minus a giant poster with Kristin's name on it, James proposed to Kristin.
