We were in Breckenridge for the holidays celebrating with our families and the day after Christmas we went downtown to walk around the shops and Brett took me in to our favorite coffee shop. We got coffee and then we were just getting ready to head back to the house where we would be meeting up with my family when all of a sudden on our drive back Brett told me that he had to run a quick errand. He said that it was a surprise and would not tell me where we were going. We pulled into the Beaver Run Lodge parking lot and he parked and we both got out and went inside. He still wouldn't tell me where we were going. We walked up to the third floor and he went into a gift shop but told me that I had to wait outside. I had no idea what was going on and was starting to get annoyed because he wouldn't tell me. He came back out and said that the lady he spoke with said we needed to come back in five minutes because it wasn't ready yet. He still wouldn't tell me what we were waiting for. So he took me outside to go explore for a few minutes and then he wanted to climb up the slope a little ways so we could be in the snow. This involved crossing several skiers and snowboarders coming down the mountain and Brett insisted that I followed him up the mountain. We got up there and it was the same spot that we played in the snow for hours on our first time to Breckenridge together. He grabbed my arms and after sharing some very sweet words got down on one knee and proposed. I instantly started crying and couldn't stop, I was so happy. We stood up there for about 30 minutes before we decided to tell anyone and it was just a very special and private moment that we will never forget.
