Avery a Elizabeth se poprvé setkali, když seděli vedle sebe na hodině francouzštiny. Kvůli maskám si týdny neviděli do tváře. Až když se zkřížili na bruslích na zamrzlém rybníku v kampusu, dali se do řeči. Avery a Elizabeth o tom mají veselý příběh. Loni v červnu Avery požádal Elizabeth v Chicagu o ruku. Elizabeth chtěla, aby to bylo naprostým překvapením, a tak Avery vymyslel propracovaný plán zahrnující falešnou návštěvu zubaře, růžovou zahradu a osm přátel. Během posledních čtyř let Avery a Elizabeth absolvovali měsíce dlouhé vzdálenosti mezi Chicagem, Prahou, Ann Arbor, Camp Arcadia a Francií. Posledních 7 měsíců Avery a Elizabeth vyučují angličtinu ve Francii. Elizabeth žije v baskickém regionu a učí na střední škole. Avery žije kousek za Paříží a učí na střední škole. Příští podzim Elizabeth zahájí lékařskou fakultu a Avery se bude hlásit na Master of Fine Arts.

Avery and Elizabeth first met when they sat next to each other in French class. They didn't see one another's faces for weeks because of masks. It wasn't until they crossed paths skating on a frozen pond on campus that they began talking. Avery and Elizabeth have a hilarious story about this. Last June, Avery proposed to Elizabeth in Chicago. Elizabeth wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise so Avery hatched an elaborate plan involving a fake dentist appointment, a rose garden, and eight friends. One year later, you will join them in Chicago to be married. Over the past four years, Avery and Elizabeth did months of long distance between Chicago, Prague, Ann Arbor, Camp Arcadia, and France. For the past 7 months, Avery and Elizabeth have been teaching English in France. Elizabeth has been living in the Basque region teaching at a high school. Avery has been living just outside of Paris, teaching at a middle school. Next fall, Elizabeth will begin medical school, and Avery will work and apply for Master of Fine Arts programs.
