FAQs

If you still have unanswered questions after reading through the FAQ, please reach out to Sophia at (415) 827-4074.
Question

What is the venue like?

Answer

Mt. Madonna County Park is absolutely beautiful and waaaaay out along CA-152. CA-152 gets windy and slow a few miles from the park, so please prepare accordingly and drive safely. Reliable cell service will likely not be available, so it's a good idea to get your directions loaded and snacks prepared before you leave the main grid and take in the beauty of the redwoods for a while.

Question

Are costumes really required?

Answer

YES! Come on, it's Halloween! If you arrive out of costume you will be given something silly to wear for the ceremony.

Question

What do I need to bring?

Answer

Most importantly, a costume! It can get chilly under the redwoods, even before sunset, so make sure that you bring an extra layer or incorporate one into your costume. There is a water spigot at the picnic site associated with the venue if you need to fill water bottles. (Spoiler alert, this is also probably what we'll fill any available water carafes with, so don't worry about the spigot not being "fancy" water.) If you are camping in the park, bring everything you will need to keep yourself sheltered, warm, and fed from sunset on the day of the wedding to checkout time (11 am) the following day. The only food we will be providing will be the refreshments before the ceremony and the taco meal after.

Question

What are my lodging options?

Answer

The ONLY lodging we will be providing will be the large Manzanita group campsite across the road from the amphitheater. This site has room for everyone attending the wedding and then some, but we will be taking a headcount for those planning to stay so we can pay for the corresponding number of overnight vehicle passes. We will be shifting all festivities here after sunset, so you are welcome to hang out as long as you leave the park before quite hours begin at 10 pm if you do not plan to stay overnight. Again, please bring everything you need to be prepared to camp if you plan to stay with us at Manzanita! There is RV camping and a limited number of yurts available IN A SEPARATE SECTION OF THE PARK ABOUT 1.5 MILES DOWN POLE LINE ROAD FROM THE VENUE. If you would like to use an RV site or yurt you must book your own accommodation and PLEASE keep in mind that it is not advisable to try and walk directly from the RV sites/yurts to the actual venue (the amphitheater at the park) and vice versa, and of course, never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
